Conferences provide an excellent opportunity to gain insight into the craft of writing as well as how to get published and market your work to publishers and readers. Many offer opportunities for critiques by editors and agents, break-out sessions with publishing professionals, chances to hear what publishers are hoping to discover, and opportunities to refine your work. Conferences can be beneficial for new writers as well as those who are published. The connections and friends made are invaluable – and never underestimate the power of allowing yourself the time and space to focus on yourself as a writer.
